• Quality of care

The electric wheelchair equipped with the “WHILL Automatic Operation System” (hereinafter referred to as “electric wheelchair”) was first tested at airports and other facilities for users who have difficulty walking long distances, and then in the outpatient departments of other facilities, where its safety and improved convenience were proven.

In many situations where a wheelchair is necessary in perinatal wards, it is essential for the patient to be accompanied by a medical staff member rather than the patient alone in a wheelchair, and new studies that differ from those in outpatient departments are necessary.

In order to improve safety and convenience for pregnant women and postpartum mothers when moving around the ward and to reduce the burden on medical staff, we will introduce and evaluate electric wheelchairs in perinatal wards, determine their effectiveness after introduction, and promote the use of electric wheelchairs in perinatal wards. By adding functional improvements based on feedback from actual use in the field, we will demonstrate that the safety and convenience of wheelchairs for transporting pregnant women and postpartum mothers within the ward will be improved and the workload of medical staff will be reduced.
