• AI diagnosis

Childhood cancers are rare and require specialist skills for accurate diagnosis and classification. Furthermore, diagnosis can be difficult even with specialists. The National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD) provides diagnostic support by experienced diagnostic specialists to support pediatric cancer treatment and clinical research.

In this project, we aim to use AI to support the diagnosis of pediatric cancer, using the diagnostic information on a large number of pediatric cancers accumulated to date as teacher data.In addition, in order to efficiently obtain the genomic information necessary for diagnosis, we are also working to establish a liquid biopsy test system that performs genomic diagnosis using tumor-derived DNA in the bloodstream.

In addition to assisting the conventional techniques of diagnostic specialists for more efficient diagnosis, we are also working to enable more accurate diagnosis by capturing the characteristics of cancer cells that cannot be captured by the human eye and integrating complex information, thereby contributing to improving the cure rate of childhood cancer and reducing the recurrence rate.
